Safety
Skyline Water Polo prioritizes the safety of our athletes and is committed to keeping our athletes safe from misconduct of any form, including Sexual Abuse Misconduct. We are SafeSport certified and in compliance with all USA Water Polo protocols and procedures that aim to protect young athletes. As USA Water Polo requires, we have an Athlete Safety Officer who oversees and monitors the safety protocols and ensures that those protocols are being met. We regularly review our safety measures and look for more ways we can keep our athletes out of harm’s way.

Digital Communication

Digital communication between athletes, coaches, and parents will be done primarily through our team communication app, Ollie.

If texting is necessary, all text messages between athletes and coaches must also include at least one of the athlete’s parents.

All digital communication must be water polo-related.
Locker Rooms

Only athletes are allowed in the locker rooms; no exceptions for coaches, parents, siblings, etc. Spectators and other adults have access to restrooms located near the observation deck.

Cell phone use is prohibited for all athletes while using the locker rooms.

If any athlete observes or experiences any misconduct happening in the locker rooms, they should report it immediately to one of the coaches.
Facilities

All coaches and families should monitor for suspicious individuals or activities while attending or observing practices and games at all facilities.

If there is a concern, it should be reported immediately to one of the coaches.
Additional Precautions

Parents of young and/or more vulnerable children are encouraged to walk their children into all facilities for games and practices.

Two adults will be present for all practices.

An adult will be present when Youth Assistant Coaches are working with players and to the greatest extent possible, Youth Assistant Coaches will work in pairs.
